September 25, 2024

Did you know that storing carrots sticks in the fridge in water with a tiny bit of salt will keep them fresh for weeks? It’s true! Just peel the carrots, cut them lengthwise and drop them into an airtight container filled with water and salt and they’ll be cool, fresh and crispy whenever you feel like a healthy snack. Don’t forget the hummus!

This is a great activity to do with young children who are ready to try cooking alongside a parent for the first time. All cutting should be done by parents, but kids may do some peeling with supervision. Don’t forget to always peel away from yourself!
