Pain is an inevitable part of life. Thankfully, we’re lucky enough to have at our disposal a number of natural methods to relive it!

Ginger : most people know about garlic’s ability to reduce nausea and soothe gastric upset, but did you know that it’s also been shown to fight pain, including joint pain and menstrual pain? Two to three teaspoons per day has been shown to be enough to significantly reduce inflammation.

Coffee : the solution to making muscle pain get up and go may be as close as the nearest cup of joe! Caffeine can help to dilate blood vessels, which can make tension headaches disappear!  As well, research has shown that coffee may be surprisingly effective at helping to reduce muscle pain.

Hot Peppers : If you can handle the hot stuff, capsaicin (the substance that puts the hot in hot peppers) is known to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties (and potentially acts as an antioxidant, too!).  As well, the rush you get from eating hot peppers is a burst of endorphins – which are known to likewise reduce the sensation of pain!

Salmon : In addition to being delicious, salmon and other fish rich in Omega-3 fatty acids (like sardines and mackerel) can help with pain and inflammation! One study seemed to indicate that, in correct doses, the effects of eating this fish can be comparable to consuming ibuprofen!

Pumpkin Seeds : Magnesium – which pumpkin seeds are a great source for – has been indicated to help with headaches (especially migraines). They’ve also been shown to help with inflammation and to reduce the impact of arthritis pain – and they’re also good for prostate health!

Cherries : Long known to help folks with the pain of gout, and a secret weapon against muscle pain used by athletes, cherries are rich in phytonutrients that can help with pain reduction.

Turmeric : Studies on folks suffering from arthritis have indicated that people who consume turmeric have reduced pain and improved mobility. It seems like the absorption is even better when paired with black pepper – so get spicing!

Soy : Some studies have indicated that regular consumption of soy (including tofu, tempeh, and edamame) can have a major effect on pain – but it can take 3 months of regular consumption to really make a difference!

Genuine Health Pain Relief+ : For those times when you don’t feel like cooking a salmon just to deal with a headache, there is natural pain relief like Genuine Health Pain Relief+.  Made from an all-natural combination of egg membrane, devil’s claw (which, despite the ominous name, is a flowering plant in the sesame family), and willow bark (which is the precursor to aspirin, and has been used for pain relief for over 2000 years), Genuine Health Pain Relief+ works in only 2 hours and works great for headaches, back pain, or cramps.

Whichever technique you’re using, we hope you can find something natural and effective to help you deal with whatever life throws at you!
